El invitado presentó una descripción general de la iniciativa de conservación de tierras privadas en Chile.

Henry Tepper is a conservation consultant and an instructor in the Masters Program in Sustainability at the Harvard University Extension School.  He has a background in land conservation and has played a direct role in the protection of almost one million acres around the world. Henry serves on the Board of Directors of Fundación Tierra Austral (Tierra Austral Land Trust) in Chile and as the Strategic Conservation Advisor to Tierra Austral’s El Boldo to Cantillana land conservation initiative  https://www.fundaciontierraaustral.cl  His consulting practice also includes serving as the coordinator of an initiative by three NGO’s in the US Gulf of Mexico region to create a zero interest Conservation and Restoration Loan Fund linked to the Deepwater Horizon Oil spill settlement.

 

At the Harvard University Extension School, Henry co-created and co-teaches a course on Land Conservation Practice in the US and Around the World.  This is one of the first applied land conservation courses created and taught in the US.  Next year, he has been invited to teach the course at both Harvard and Brandeis University.
